MasterCard Gift Card Is For EveryoneA MasterCard gift card is a prepaid card which is accepted at all those places where a debit master card is accepted. It appears just like any other debit MasterCard or credit card. The only difference is that it is prepaid. This means that it has a limited amount of money which can be used for transactions. This limit is set by the person who purchases a gift card. Every time the gift card is used the purchase amount is deducted from the balance. It can be used for mail orders, on line purchases or at stores accepting a debit MasterCard. There are certain places where it will not be accepted. For example, it cannot be used at an ATM. It cannot be used at recurring merchants such as gymnasium and utility service providers. Similarly it will not be accepted in casinos, adult websites and liquor stores. It can be used at the gas station, but has to be handed out to the attendant. The card expires after a period of one year from the date of card purchase (which is the card expiration date). Another condition when this card could expire is when the balance on the card remains zero for a consecutive period of sixty days. When a gift card expires, it becomes invalid and whenever the card holder will try to make a transaction, it will be denied. In case there is a remaining balance on the card then the person can request for a refund check within a year after the expiration date. You can get a new card armed with all the features as your previous card and all standard fees will apply. In case a card holder has a low balance on his/her gift card and he/she wants to buy something which costs more, then he/she should notify the cashier that they would like to pay the remaining amount by any other means. The card holders can easily check out the balance by calling the customer care number given at the back of the card. One should keep track of all the transactions done through a gift card and one should always check his/her balance before using their gift card. One has to sign on the purchase receipt every time they make a purchase. If the item purchased has to be returned, the gift card is to be presented to the merchant along with the purchase receipt. In case the card is lost or stolen, it has to be reported at the customer care phone number so that it can be blocked immediately and a new card can be issued. All these qualities make a MasterCard gift card, the perfect gift for loved ones. |
