A MasterCard gift card is a prepaid card which is accepted at all those places where a debit master card is accepted. It appears just like any other debit MasterCard or credit card. The only difference is that it is prepaid. This means that it has a limited amount of money which can be used for transactions. This limit is set by the person who purchases a gift card. One should keep track of all the transactions done through a gift card and one should always check his/her balance before using their gift card. One has to sign on the purchase receipt every time they make a purchase.

If the item purchased has to be returned, the gift card is to be presented to the merchant along with the purchase receipt. In case the card is lost or stolen, it has to be reported at the customer care phone number so that it can be blocked immediately and a new card can be issued.
